CBD Pollen & Dry Sift — Wholesale Skuff & Static

Written by the Greens Farmhouse Sourcing Team Our quality & testing standards

Mechanically separated resin — no solvents at any stage. From entry-level skuff that converts flower buyers into resin buyers, through static-separated and triple-filtered grades for customers who judge on purity.

How Dry Sift Is Made

Four steps, no solvents. Understanding the process is what lets you explain the price difference between grades at the counter.

1

Dry and cure

Flowers are dried and cured so the resin glands become brittle enough to snap away cleanly from the plant.

2

Agitate over mesh

The material is moved across fine screens. Resin heads break off and fall through; plant matter stays above.

3

Grade by micron

Finer screens yield purer sift. The first, finest pass is the premium grade; later passes carry more plant matter.

4

Press or leave loose

Left loose it stays pollen. Pressed with warmth and pressure it becomes traditional hash.

CBD Pollen & Dry Sift — FAQ

What is CBD pollen?

CBD pollen — also called skuff or kief — is the loose resin powder shaken free from dried hemp flowers. The flowers are agitated over fine mesh screens so the resin glands break off and fall through, leaving plant matter behind. What collects underneath is pollen: sandy, pale gold, and far more concentrated than the flower it came from. Press it and you get hash; leave it loose and you have pollen.

What does 'dry sift' mean?

Dry sift is the separation method itself — mechanical, solvent-free, using nothing but movement and mesh. It is the oldest hash-making technique there is and still the most widely used in Europe. Because no solvents are involved at any stage, dry sift appeals to retailers and customers who want the simplest possible process behind the product.

What is static separation?

A refinement of dry sift that uses static electricity to pull the resin heads away from residual plant matter, producing a noticeably cleaner and paler product than screening alone. Our Golden Static is made this way and carries a triple CBD+CBG+CBN profile, which puts it in a different position on the shelf from a standard single-cannabinoid press.

What does 3X filtered mean?

The material passes through three successive filtration stages, each removing more plant matter and leaving a higher proportion of pure resin. More passes means a cleaner, more potent and paler end product — and a higher price per gram. It is the grade to stock for customers who judge on purity rather than tradition.

Is pollen cheaper than pressed hash?

Generally yes. Skuff and pollen sit at the entry point of the resin category, which makes them the easiest way to introduce customers who have only ever bought flower. That accessibility is precisely why they are worth stocking: pollen converts flower buyers into resin buyers, and resin buyers spend more per visit.

Can I use pollen for extraction or production?

Many of our wholesale customers buy pollen and sift as input material rather than for resale — it is a concentrated, consistent feedstock. If you are sourcing for production rather than the shelf, tell us your volume and target cannabinoid profile and we will quote accordingly; the pricing structure differs from retail-tier wholesale.
